Meet Adriane
Founder & CEO
The visionary creative at the heart of it all, Adriane O’Pharrow—also known as “The Empirical Lioness”—is a dynamic force with deep roots in arts, communications, and community advocacy. As the Founder and Creative Director of A.N.O. Productions, she wears many hats—overseeing productions, developing content, and shaping the brand’s artistic direction with purpose and passion.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Adriane grew up surrounded by cultural richness and social awareness, which sparked her passion for storytelling early on. She earned her B.A. in Mass Communications (Electronic Media) with a minor in Dramatic Arts from Winston‑Salem State University and is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
With over a decade of experience in performance, digital media, and community storytelling, Adriane’s creative leadership spans music, dance, theatre, film, and podcast production. As a performer, she’s taken the stage in powerful productions like For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow is Enuf, The Colored Museum, Ruined, Yellowman, and more. As a director, she’s brought acclaimed works like The Colored Museum and A Raisin in the Sun to life at the D.C. Black Theatre Festival.
Now based in North Carolina with her spirited pup, Rico, Adriane continues to mentor young artists, curate soundtracks for every mood, and quietly plan her next big move. Empirical Tings!
